Creatiq Student Guide
This guide explains how to access, interact with, and complete interactive learning content created with Creatiq.
1. Getting Started
You do not need a Creatiq account to use learning content. Your teacher or instructor shares content with you in one of three ways.
Accessing via Your LMS
If your school or institution uses a learning management system (Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, etc.):
- Log into your LMS as usual.
- Navigate to the course or module your teacher assigned.
- Click the activity link. The interactive content loads directly inside the LMS page.
- Start interacting -- no extra login required.
Your LMS may show a progress indicator or grade for the activity.
Accessing via Direct Link
Your teacher may share a direct URL to the content:
- Click the link or paste it into your browser.
- The content loads in a dedicated player page.
- If the link requires authentication, you may be asked to verify your identity first.
Accessing via Embedded Content
Content can be embedded inside other websites, course pages, or digital textbooks:
- Look for the interactive element on the page -- it appears as a framed box that may take a moment to load.
- Once loaded, you will see the activity title and interactive elements.
- Interact with the content directly within the page -- there is no need to navigate elsewhere.
The embedded player automatically adjusts its height to fit the content, so you can scroll the surrounding page normally.
2. Interacting with Content
Creatiq content is built on the H5P standard, which means every activity is interactive and works in your browser. No plugins or downloads are needed.
General Interaction Patterns
- Click/Tap -- Select answers, flip cards, expand sections, and navigate.
- Drag and Drop -- Move items to correct positions (supported on both mouse and touch devices).
- Type -- Fill in text fields for blanks, essays, and short answers.
- Scroll -- Longer activities may extend below the visible area. Scroll down to see all content.

- Select the option that best describes you or your preference.
- At the end, you will see a personality profile or result based on your answers.
- This type is not graded -- there are no right or wrong answers.
Chart
- View the data visualization (bar chart, pie chart, etc.).
- Some charts are interactive -- hover or click on segments to see exact values.
- Charts are for learning and reference; they typically do not require answers.
Question Set
- This is a collection of different question types combined into one quiz.
- Answer each question one at a time.
- Use the Next button to proceed to the following question.
- At the end, you will see your total score across all questions.
Fullscreen Mode
Many activities offer a fullscreen button. Click it to expand the content to fill your entire screen, which is helpful for:
- Detailed images and hotspots.
- Longer quizzes where you want fewer distractions.
- Presentations and timelines.
Click the fullscreen button again or press Escape to return to normal view.
3. Results & Progress
Creatiq tracks your interactions automatically using the xAPI standard. Here is what happens behind the scenes and what it means for you.
Immediate Feedback
After checking your answers, you will see:
- Score -- How many questions you answered correctly (e.g., "7 out of 10").
- Pass/Fail indicator -- Whether you reached the minimum passing score set by your teacher.
- Per-question feedback -- Explanations for why an answer is correct or incorrect, if your teacher provided them.
What Gets Tracked
Every meaningful interaction generates a learning record:
- Started -- When you began the activity.
- Answered -- Each answer you submit.
- Completed -- When you finish the activity.
- Score -- Your final score, including raw score, scaled percentage, and maximum possible.
- Duration -- How long you spent on the activity.
- Success -- Whether you passed based on the threshold set by your teacher.
Where Your Results Go
Depending on how the content is deployed:
- In your LMS -- Results sync back to the gradebook. Your teacher sees your score alongside other class activities.
- In a live session (EduLive) -- Your teacher can see real-time results during a live class. Quiz scores appear on their dashboard.
- Embedded content -- Results are sent to the hosting application, which may display them in a progress tracker or report.
Retry Policy
Your teacher decides whether you can retry activities:
- Retry enabled -- You see a "Retry" button after checking answers. Click it to reset and try again. Your latest attempt may replace the previous score.
- Retry disabled -- You get one attempt. Review the solutions to learn from mistakes.
- Show solution enabled -- After submitting, you can click "Show Solution" to see the correct answers.
Completion Status
Activities track completion status:
- Not Started -- You have not opened the activity yet.
- In Progress -- You have started but not finished (e.g., answered some questions in a quiz but not all).
- Completed -- You have finished the activity. This does not necessarily mean you passed.
- Passed -- You completed the activity and met the minimum score requirement.
4. CMI5 Launch
Some content is delivered using the CMI5 standard, an advanced learning content format. Here is what you need to know as a learner.
What is CMI5?
CMI5 is a standard for launching and tracking learning content. It works alongside xAPI to provide detailed progress tracking. You do not need to understand the technical details -- just know that CMI5 content behaves slightly differently from regular embedded activities.
How CMI5 Content Works
- Launch -- When you click a CMI5 activity link in your LMS, a new browser tab or window opens with the content.
- Session -- Your entire interaction is tracked as a single session. The system knows when you started and when you finish.
- Completion Rules -- The content itself decides when you are "done." Typically, you need to view all sections or answer all questions.
- Scoring -- If the activity has a scored component, your score is sent directly to your LMS gradebook.
- Closing -- When you finish, close the tab or click "Return to LMS" if that option is available. Your results have already been saved.
Key Differences from Regular Content
| Feature | Regular Embed | CMI5 |
|---|---|---|
| Opens in | Same page (iframe) | New tab/window |
| Session tracking | Per interaction | Full session (start to finish) |
| Completion | Based on each question | Based on entire activity |
| Offline support | No | Content may support offline access |
Tips for CMI5 Content
- Do not close the tab prematurely. Wait until you have completed the activity. If you close early, your progress may not be saved correctly.
- Allow pop-ups. If your browser blocks the new tab, allow pop-ups for the LMS domain.
- Check your LMS gradebook. After completing a CMI5 activity, your score and completion status should appear in the gradebook within a few minutes.
- One session at a time. Do not open the same CMI5 activity in multiple tabs simultaneously. This can cause tracking conflicts.
Tips for a Better Experience
- Use a modern browser. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge (latest versions) all work well. Internet Explorer is not supported.
- Stable internet connection. Interactive content loads assets from the server. A slow connection may cause loading delays.
- Enable JavaScript. All interactive content requires JavaScript to function.
- Touch devices are supported. Drag-and-drop activities work on tablets and phones, though a larger screen provides a better experience for complex activities.
- Accessibility. Content is designed to work with screen readers and keyboard navigation. Use Tab to move between elements and Enter/Space to interact.
